Safety precaution for electrical works

As we known when working on electrical installations, safety matter is our priority.Every step we need to consider about hazards when perform electrical works.

Only competent electrician can work on electrical installation or live condition according to relevant industrial safety standards.Common industrial safety standard for electrical works such as VDE 0105 for Germany, and international standards for EN 50110 or IEC 60364.

For electrician,they need to special tools which have been tested and qualified with electrical standard.Hand tools also must suitable and followed the electrical standard  IEC 60900 and it has specified worldwide requirements for tools for electrical live condition.

What is an electric shock?

In the Electrical Engineering field,many cases of accident or death around the world causes by electric shocked.It very dangerous because we cannot see,smell and feel the electric current.

Current flow into our body and can make heart stop from functioning and can cause the serious injury even death.The level of danger for electric shock depends on the value of the body current and the time for which the current flows.

Human body have a different insulation value (Ohm) and also different current value can effected the heart.For the body have a low current level,it can easily attack the heart function and it so dangerous.

VDE Screwdriver for terminal

For electrical termination,the tightness of terminal screw important to avoid sparking and can burn out the electrical cable.It also can cause serious damage for equipment or machine.

That why manufacture design the special terminal screw head for more torque when fastening the screw.We can found terminal screw used in switch board,circuit breaker,fuse box,terminal block and relay.

The special design for screw head is combination profile from Phillips and slotted or Pozidriv and slotted.This combination very unique because it can reduce slipping and more torque transfer when we fasten the terminal screw.

When we perform electrical task,the tool must suitable and safety with our task.This post i want discuss about insulated and VDE pliers.This tool very important during electrical installation,termination for power supply or control panel.It used for gripping,holding,stripping and cutting.

Why i’m interested to discuss about insulated or VDE pliers?The reason it is about safety and avoid from electric shock during perform electrical jobs in live situation.Many technician or electrical person not aware about this matter.

From the statistic for injury due to electrical shock,15 % of the root cause came from mistaken to choose the suitable hand tools when perform with electrical jobs.So i hope from my little explanation,it will make you clear view about how important the insulated tool for electrical person. read more
