This post I would like to share video how to disconnect or dis-engage THOMAS Coupling from motor hub during maintenance works.In this video,technician plan to replace new bearing for the motor due to abnormal sound detected from bearing.Normally in industry or chemical plant,Thomas Coupling is the one of common application to connect electric motor as a drive and pump as a rotary equipment for the process.
The main reason why Thomas coupling are used :-
- To transmit power from one shaft to another, efficiently and effectively.
- To accommodate slight shaft misalignment which develop in service.
