Sensor Classification

Sensor classification schemes range from very simple to the complex. Depending on the classification purpose, different classification criteria may be selected. Here, we offer several practical ways to look at the sensors.

All sensors may be of two kinds: passive and active. A passive sensor does not need any additional energy source and directly generates an electric signal in response to an external stimulus; that is, the input stimulus energy is converted by the sensor into the output signal.

The examples are a thermocouple, a photodiode, and a piezoelectric sensor. Most of passive sensors are direct sensors as we defined them earlier. The active sensors require external power for their operation, which is called an excitation signal. read more

KEYENCE Laser Sensor LR

As we know, many types of sensor used for input device for equipment, machinery, robotic and others application to made works more easy, low human failed and automatic function.

This time i want share about Laser Sensor LR-Z series from KEYENCE,Japan. This laser sensor is the one of my favorite for machine application because it is user friendly, simple setup, high durability, heavy duty, long life span, unique design and also up to date technology. read more

Relay Characteristics

Relay manufactures design them for special applications to full fill industries needed and coupe with advanced technologies. This time i want share information about relays characteristics most often used in typical automation and instrumentation work.

As i explained in my last posted, basically principal for small DC and AC relays, sensitive relays, miniature and sealed relays, and some small power relays is common.

To get a suitable relay for our application,we should understand about basic relay characteristic and general specification about operation and relay design because manufacture designs many types of relay for different application.

Types of Relay

In automation industries, relay is a common device used for control application.Basic operation of  electrical relay is a device that changes the state of a circuit in response to it being energized or de-energized by that or another circuit.

It function to open or close the circuit or contact and respond depend on signal that we gave it to the magnetic coil.It have normally open and normally close contact that we can choose when design the control circuit for our application.

For generally understanding, relay also may consider as a amplifier and controller. It only a small device in automation circuit but it have important roles to make our system running accordingly. read more

Sensor

This device is very common used in manufacturing industry, office, house hold, school, highway and every placed around us.It very important to sensing and send a signal to control panel for further application.

Basically we can elaborate meaning of sensor in easy understanding are device to detected physical condition such as temperature, pressure, motion, metal and non-metal and many more function.

Sensor application very popular  for industries such as automotive,FPD and semiconductor, machine or metal,ICs and electronic components, food processing and packaging also rubber and plastic. It successful to make production running properly, accurate, smooth and faster. read more

Equipment for PLC programming

Now in automation industry, the common practice for programming the PLC is using a desktop or laptop. It easy to handle and more comfortable when perform the design or troubleshooting job.

PLC manufacture also in advance to produce a user friendly PLC software in market today. It made our programming task more easy and can get the best result and design for our project.Everybody can learn about PLC programming because it easy to understand and have many option functions for design, programming and fault finding task.

To ensure PLC programming done properly,we should prepare all equipment or tools for programming matter is available and working in good condition.

Relays

Relays have a wide range of application in industry.Even with the advent of electronic control such as PLC and other solid state devices such as thyristors, the electromechanical relay still retain a high level of acceptance.

We can found relay in every where such as control panel, equipment and machinery. It is common use for automation and motor control application.

The reason for this is that for simple types of control, relay offer a cost effective solution. They are available in a large range of configurations from small of only 10mm in length with multiple contact pair for data communication,to large relay called contactor for carrying heavy current loads in applications such as switching 3 phase motors. read more
